  An early image of the Nevada County Courthouse, c. 1865. I rented a loft i n the building just to the left of the sign that reads "BLA . . . ." I have two other views of the courthouse which are located on the next page when you click on the courthouse image.

  This overview of Nevada City is from a stereoview that was taken on the hill on the South side of Deer Creek about 1880, just above the South end of the Pine Street Bridge. The Georgian courthouse is visible toward the upper right of the view. The photographer is O. C. Percival, Nevada City.
  Snow covered Commercial Street in January, 1890. I lived up the street on the North side about five doors up from the man in the foreground from 1995 to 2000.
